MONTREAL – The Montreal Alouettes announced on Friday that the club has acquired the negotiation rights to quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. from the BC Lions in exchange for the team’s first round pick in the 2017 CFL Canadian Draft.
Adams Jr. (5’11”, 200 lbs.) spent his senior year as the University of Oregon Ducks starting pivot, where he played at a very high level completing 168 of his 259 passes good for 2,643 passing yards while throwing 26 touchdown passes and being intercepted only eight times. The Pasadena, CA native maintained a 64.9 completion rate with the Ducks, adding 147 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 83 carries. He has without a doubt been one of the most dynamic college football players over the last five years.
